While answering any interview question, keep in mind that the persons have probably heard a hundred answers to this question already and you need to say something that is unique. What can be better than being yourself? You are a unique person so your reasons, causes, and hopes are unique as well.

If you answer all the questions from your mind, they will be unique and set you apart from the crowd. Don't copy your answer from the internet and just say it in front of the interviewer. They will probably find out. Therefore, I have mentioned some helpful tips on how to answer these questions. You can look up some words and phrases that would help you fill the gaps and frame your answer.

Here are the top ten interview questions that are asked most of the time.

1. Introduce yourself

This is the most basic yet crucial question and it is the most asked question in interviews. It sets the base for your whole interview. Basically, the interviews want to see how confident you are and how you represent yourself. They have all the data about you in front of them in your CV so, avoid talking about things related to your school or college. Try to describe yourself as a person.

Talk about your achievements, character, goals, hobbies, etc. Avoid talking about your personal stuff or family. Keep it very professional. Your answer can begin with a piece of basic information about you like your name and the highest education. Then you can talk about your achievements, projects, past working experience, etc. Also, give a brief reason why you are fit for this job role. Don't drag any topic for too long, keep everything brief. Let them ask further questions if they are interested.

2. What are your weaknesses?

The interviews want to see how self-aware and honest you are as a person. You need to choose your answer really carefully here. You cannot be too cocky or be brutally honest. You need to balance your answer but be honest at the same time. Talk about a weakness that you have overcome in the past like public speaking. You can talk about how you struggled with it and how you have overcome this problem now. Always end this answer on a positive note saying something like this- "now, I have come a long way from where I started. I see myself improving a lot and becoming a better version of myself in the future with perseverance and hard work."

3. What are your strengths?

Now is your chance to talk about your achievements and what makes you the best fit for the job. Use good words to describe your personality and be ready to back your answer up. Whatever you say should have an example. Learn some good vocabulary to use in this answer here. Illustrate your answer carefully and briefly.

4. Why are you applying to this position?

This answer should be unique because it's about your reason. Think about why do you want this position and why you are the best fit for it. If you can't think of a reason you should probably apply somewhere else. Think about the qualities that are needed for the positions and how do you fulfill that criterion. If you are applying to the customer support department, you can say something like this- "I love the constant human interaction. I also feel satisfied after helping someone solve a problem." Then, you can even talk about the company too.

5. Tell me about your last job.

This question is really simple and also very often asked. Don't be afraid, just talk about your last job briefly. Remember not to talk bad about your last company or anyone in particular. Don't say anything negative. Talk about your position, responsibilities, your experience, what you learned there, and how it was a key factor in teaching you something important.

6. Why did you leave your last job?

Now, this is something really interesting and they are laying a trap for you to fall by asking this question. But, you need to answer it using really nice words. Don't say bluntly that you did not like working there or the salary was not sufficient or that you were kicked out or anything like that. Most importantly, don't say anything bad about anyone because it reflects your character first. The interviews will be quick to judge you if you did this.

Instead, say positive things like- "I am looking for new opportunities." Say things that show you are ready to work and quite serious to get this job. If you had to leave due to some personal reasons, just say that and it'll be all right.

7. Why should we hire you?

This is an intimidating question but at the same time, it is also a great opportunity for you to convince them that you are the best person for the job. You need to talk about how you are great at the job and what qualifications you have, if you have experience, you can also share that. Then, you need to focus on results. You can say that you will also give results. Then, how easily you will fit in the environment and about teamwork. Mention all of these points in your answer but keep it relatable.

8. How did you come to know about this job?

This is an easy question and you should not exaggerate it in any way. Just simply answer how you came to know about this job role and why you decided to apply. This question is asked just to know their best source of reach. It will also let them know about your communication skills. Keep the answer short and simple.

9. Why do you want to work with us?

For this question, you need to do your own research about the company. Why you want to become a part of that organization solely depends on you. Hence, you have the answer. Try to google every time you want to know for this answer about the company you are applying to. If the company you are applying to is really famous, then you can say something like this- "I have always dreamed of working in a big firm such as yours and I would love to be a part of it and contribute towards its growth. It will also give me some opportunities for learning something new that I can not find anywhere else. With that knowledge, I would like to help reach the company's targets."

10. What can we expect from you in the first three months?

With this question, the interviewers want to know what you have in mind about the company and what is your plan further. Also, it will tell them about your work ethic. So, answer in a very professional way. Talk about results! Tell them how will the company benefit if they hire you and what will be your working strategy for the first few months. Don't say things like, it will take a month for you to get used to the new environment or you would just take some time to know your co-workers. This is not the optimal answer. Instead, say something like this; "During the first few months, I will do my best to establish myself in the new workplace. You can expect good results from the beginning."

While answering interview questions, answer them in a way you would want a candidate to answer if you were hiring them for your company. It is the best stadndad. You would never hire someone who is not confident or who is lethargic. You would want to hire someone who is energetic, dynamic, knows his or her trade, and has a good work ethic. So be that person in the interviews, answer the questions like that and you will get the job!
